Rabta Committee had nominated Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui as party’s convener after dismissing Farooq Sattar.

The Election monitoring body would announce its verdict on 7th March as both faction of Muttahida Qaumi Movement(Pakistan) seeks to hold their grip tight on the strings of MQM.

The rift in the party emerged after Farroq Sattar nominated his close aide Kamran Tessori for Senate elections followed by ‘Rabta Committee’s dismissal of latter’s nomination causing the party to be divided in two different grups: MQM(PIB) and MQM(Bahadurabad).

MQM(PIB) belongs to Farooq Sattar where he resides.

However, Sattar has dismissed the role of ECP to resolve the friction of MQM, saying that ECP have no jurisdiction to settle the political matters.
