Fauzia Kasuri quits PTI


KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fauzia Kasuri has announced to quit the party stating that she was ‘disenchanted’ by the direction the party had taken.


“You opted to hand over the reins of the party to those electables we fought against since our inception,” she wrote in her resignation letter. “At the cost of workers, who in some cases, laid down their lives for the cause.”

She further mentioned that is is impossible for her to defend the recent decision of PTI.

“It is impossible for me to defend the recent decisions made by PTI,” she added.

Kasuri further stated that this letter be accepted as her formal resignation from the party. “Sadly, this was the final nail in the coffin,” she added.

She wished PTI chief Imran Khan best of luck for future and reminded him to bring the change as he had promised, in case if he makes it to the Centre.

I wish you the best of luck in the future and hope that if you are granted an opportunity to form the national government, you shall strive to bring about the change you once promised,” she wrote in the conclusion of paragraph.

Hours after her letter of resignation, PTI chairman Imran Khan accepted the resignation and expressed his best wishes to former PTI leader  Fauzia Kasuri.
