FIA submits interim challan, charges Mohsin Ali in Imran Farooq’s murder

ISLAMABAD: Imran Farooq murder case has entered into a crucial phase after Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Wednesday submitted an interim challan to Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC).

The court would begin proceedings of the murder trial from May 12 in the premises of Adiala Jail owing to security reasons.

Today, the FIA submitted challan for the seventh time in the ATC, charging Mohsin Ali with the murder of Imran Farooq, while declaring Moazzam Ali Khan and Khalid Shamim as facilitators.

It said that Mohsin and Kashif Kamran stabbed Imran Farooq to death, while Moazzam financially assisted the assassination.

It also stated that MQM chief Altaf Hussain and other leader Mohammad Anwar used to consider Imran Farooq a threat to the party.

The court ordered that copies of interim challan be sent to lawyers of the accused before the trial commences.

Farooq, 50, a founding member of MQM was killed in a knife attack in Edgware, northwest London in September 2010.
