Firing at Justice Ijazul Ahsan’s residence:CJP Saqib Nisar requests bar councils to withdraw strike call

ISLAMABAD: On Sunday Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar has requested bar councils across the country to call off  a strike call in protest of firing incidents at Justice Ijazul Ahsan’s Lahore residence.

A statement by the apex court stated unidentified gunmen struck the judge’s Model Town residence first late last night and then again early morning today.

However, the Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar reached his residence on Sunday morning and is seeing the matter by himself.

According to  spokesperson of the Supreme Court the chief justice Saqib Nisar, however, requested to all bar councils to withdraw the strike scheduled for tomorrow.

CJP Nisar  also requested the legal fraternity to attend the courts tomorrow for ‘the sake of dispensation of justice to litigants whose cases are already fixed for hearing tomorrow in different courts.’
