KARACHI: Six labourers died on Saturday while working with a trolley lift of an under-construction building at Boat Basin which unexpectedly fell.
According to the police, The labourers, who died instantly, were putting up glass sheets on fourth floor of the building while standing in the lift.
Fall of the lift also resulted in injuring six other labourers.
Bodies of three labourers were taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre while the bodies of other two labourers were taken to the Civil Hospital, according to the rescue officials.
Sixth labourer, who was severely wounded, was taken to the hospital where he later passed away.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, after taking notice of the occurrence, has instructed Karachi Commissioner Iftikhar Ali Shalwani to present report of the incident.
CM has further said that families of the deceased labourers will be compensated and the injured labourers will be given adequate medical attention.
