Forces arrest 12 suspects involved in Charsadda attack


CHARSADDA: Security forces on Thursday carried out a search operation on outskirts of Charsadda town where militants massacred 21 people in a brazen attack on Bacha Khan university yesterday.


According to source, the troops apprehended at least 12 suspects during a house-to-house search operation in Charsadda and adjacent areas bordering tribal agencies.

Meanwhile, officials said FIR of the incident has been registered at Mardan Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), with security agencies investigating the attack point to foreign involvement.

With death of another injured from the attack at Peshawar’s Lady Reading hospital, the death toll mounted to 21.

The country is observing day of national mourning today for the 21 university martyrs.

Flags flew at half-past on all government buildings inside and outside the country, while a prayer ceremony was held in the capital Islamabad.
