Govt forms JIT over allegations made by Sarfraz on MQM


ISLAMABAD: Interior Ministry has formed a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) over allegations made on Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) for money laundering and contacts with RAW by Sarfraz Merchant, a notification has also been issued in this regard.


The team will be headed by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) anti-terrorism wing head Mazhar-ul-Haq Kaka Khail. The team also includes one official from IB, 2 from ISI and Raja Tahir Iqbal from Sindh Rangers will also be the part of this team.

The JIT will review Merchant’s statement and will continue to investigate for further proofs. JIT can assist any officer from provincial and federal government and the team will present the report in 1 week.
