KARACHI: Chief Justice of Pakisan Mian Saqib Nisar expressed anger over Karachi’s overall unhygienic condition that has led the metropolis and its resident to bear the fall out of the failure of Government and local machinery.
While hearing the case related to Water commission, the CJP Saqib Nisar a heading three member bench lamented that he had to kill mosquitoes all night while staying at Bath Island near Clifton.
In this all important hearing, Mayor of Karachi Waseem Akhter raised his hands from the responsibility, admitting the fact that sewerage lines are blocked, piles of heap all across the city, and stray dogs wandering freely.
The Chief secretary informed the apex court that many roads of Karachi have not been cleaned up and confessed that the situation is not ideal, but asserted that the things are getting better.
Other honorable judge of the bench Justice Sajjad Ali Shah remarked that the sewerage lines are filled with trashes which causes the overflow of water, causing pollution to the city.
However, Justice Faisal Arab remembered the days that when the Karachi roads used to be cleared up every early morning.
