Iranian FM meets Khawaja Asif to discuss bilateral relations

ISLAMABAD: Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Monday met his Pakistani counterpart Khawaja Asif where bilateral relations and measures to further enhance mutual cooperation were discussed in the federal capital.


Zarif, who arrived early Monday morning for three-day visit received a warm welcome by senior officials of foreign minister at Islamabad airport.

The Iranian foreign minister alongside 30-member delegation, will hold talks on mutual of bilateral interests. Matters of  trade, energy, culture will also be discussed in the meeting.

Zarif is also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and military chief Gen. Qamar Javed Bajawa. Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammed Faisal on Thursday said that Pakistan and Iran remain actively engaged in enhancing cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
