Iran’s Foreign Minister 2-day visit in Pakistan begins today

ISLAMABAD: Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will arrive in Pakistan today for a two-day visit.


Mr. Zarif will hold dialogues with Foreign Minister of Pakistan Shah Mahmood Qureshi in a one-on-one meeting to discuss the bilateral terms of the countries.

Mr. Zarif will also meet Prime Minister Imran Khan and the military leadership during his visit.

On the other hand, Japanese State Minister for Foreign Affairs Kazuyuki Nakane will also arrive in Islamabad today for a two-day visit and will meet Mr. Qureshi and other government officials during his visit.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Joseph Dunford will come Pakistan for one-day visit on September 5 to meet PM Imran, US Defence Secretary James Mattis confirmed on Wednesday.

The US delegates will hold talks to revamp diplomatic ties between the countries and will also meet other government officials.
