ISLAMABAD Jehangir Tareen, the ex Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s General Secretary submitted a review petition seeking Supreme Court to over rule his disqualification, according to Media reports.
The petition states that Jehangir Tareen has not concealed his assets, submitting affidavit that he did not intentionally conceal assets in his nomination papers.
It added that The Random Trust ─ which was established in 2011 and came into question several times during the hearing of the case against Tareen ─ was formed so that the former PTI leader could provide a house for his children in Britain.
The affidavit said that Tareen had appointed himself and his wife as beneficiaries of the trust as a protective measure.
Jehangir Tareen was disqualified by Supreme Court on December 15th according to the article 62 and 63 for the cocealment of assets, a petition filed by PML(N) stalwart Hanif Abbasi.
Following Supreme Court’s decision against him Jehangir Tareen stepped down from his party portfolio.
