ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has announced to stage sit-in in Islamabad on September 8 against “obstacles created by the government” in transparent investigation into Panama Papers.
JI Chief Sirajul Haq said his party would stage dharna against government corruption and their attempts to block probe into Panama scandal.
He said the next course of action would be announced at party’s sit-in on Sept 8.
Addressing a ceremony in Peshawar, Haq slammed that National Accountability Bureau didn’t take any action following Panama Papers revelations.
He said the government must relinquish charge if it couldn’t protect people and give them their rights.
Haq was of the view that government was not letting accountability institutions to operate freely. The country is facing threats due to dishonest politicians, the JI chief added.
