Lawyers announce strike over Owais Ali Shah’s disappearance


KARACHI: Different lawyers bodies have announced to strike against suspected abduction of Sindh High Court’s Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah’s son.


Sindh Bar Council has announced the strike after Owais Ali Shah, Chief Justice’s son went missing yesterday.

Vice-chairman of the council, Barrister Salahuddin has condemned the incident saying that it is not less than a tragedy that a Chief Justice’s son could be abducted in a city like Karachi.

Lawyers in the high court have followed the instructions and boycotted all legal proceedings. Karachi Bar Association’s President Mehmoodul Hassan has followed suit and announced strike in city courts.

General Secretary of the bar among others have demanded immediate recovery of Chief Justice’s son.

Allegedly victimised family has stated that Owais went to Super Market in Clifton area and did not return. He had returned from London few months ago after getting a degree in law.
