Lahore: The Lahore High Court on Monday accepted an interim bail petition filed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique and his brother Salman Rafique.
Saad Rafique and his brother had filed a petition for interim bail in the LHC for an interim bail after ongoing National Accountability Bureau (NAB) inquiry against them.
A two member-bench headed by Justice Baqir Ali Najafi heard the case on a petition filed by the two brothers.
The petitioners stated that NAB is harassing them without any prove. Despite being provided proofs against the allegations they still want to arrest them.
The NAB has made a habit to threat and arrest the politicians after summoning them for investigations, the petition stated, adding that there is no strong allegations to merit their arrest.
Further, the petitioners stated that they are cooperating with the NAB, and they are suspicious that they might be arrested.
The petitioner than asked the court to allow them their basic right to present their case before the court.
The court then granted an interim bail to the petitioners till 24th October.
