
LAHORE: On Thursday, the Lahore High Court has dismissed the election tribunal’s verdict related to rejection of candidature papers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s spokesman Fawad Chaudhry, upholding the latter’s right to contest elections from his native constituency, Jhelum.

A day earlier the election tribunal upheld the review petition challenging Fawad’s candidature from Jhelum, NA-67, disqualifying him to contest the polls sheduled on July, 25th 2018.
Not only Fawad, ex-prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was also barred to contest election from Muree, NA 57 on the same grounds the former was sanctioned.
