PESHAWAR: A Peshawar High Court bench has suspended the conviction of 25 culprits who were awarded 3 years sentence by Anti-Terrorism Court for being found guilty in Mashal Khan’s lynching case.
The court was hearing the appeal filed to overturn the verdict of ATC given on February 7th 2018.
Mashal Khan a student of mass communications at Abdul Wali Khan University was lynched to death on blasphemy allegations; however the Joint Investigation Team formed to probe the blasphemy allegations vindicated Mashal as innocent and charged the main suspects involved.
The horrific incident was recorded as the video went viral on social media showing the lynching of Mashal.
Imran Ali the main accused was awarded the death sentence.
However 26 others were released by ATC because of lack of evidence against them.
