Maryam Nawaz dubs PM Khan ‘puppet premier’

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday dubbed the Prime Minister Imran Khan a puppet premier who came to power through back door deals.

Speaking at the event celebrating 21st Youm-e-Takbeer in Lahore, the PML-N leader said today, 21 years ago, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif made Pakistan’s defence unconquerable after conducting six atomic missile tests and now he is sitting in jail.

Maryam saluted former prime minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, and said leaders who make brave decisions changes the destiny of the country.

Maryam said the current government came to power through back door deals and that’s why no one in the world respects the government. Maryam said she wants the neighbouring countries to be friendly with Pakistan and we want peace not war.

Speaking at the event, PML-N leader Hamza Shahbaz said the whole world told Nawaz to not conduct missile test and he was offered billions of dollars for refraining from the test but he said he will not compromise on national autonomy.

Hamza said the PM once said to rather commit suicide than asking the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for loan which, Hamza alleged, has taken the country hostage after giving billions of dollars.

Hamza said a storm of inflation will befall after the release of budget and the government has sabotaged the economy in ten months. He alleged that the PM is hiding behind the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the NAB threats cannot deter his party.
