Nawaz, Maryam depart for Lahore

LONDON: Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz have left for Lahore to return to homeland Pakistan.

According to Newsone sources, Nawaz and Maryam are expected to reach Pakistan tomorrow evening.

“Told my kids to be brave in the face of oppression. But kids will still be kids. Goodbyes are hard, even for the grownups,” Maryam Nawaz tweeted before leaving for Lahore.

Earlier today addressing to media former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif denounced all rumors related to his cancellation of flight to Pakistan.

“Arrest of PML-N workers is pre-poll rigging, will leave for Pakistan according to my schedule, no reality in cancellation of flight,” says Nawaz while talking to media in London.

Nawaz Shairf said that still he is receiving messages to stay out of the political scene and should stay at London.

He reiterated that the accountability judge in its verdict had said that no evidence of corrupt practices was found against him.

The three-times prime minister said that he made country the nuclear power despite of it he was punished.

Earlier today, Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, the wife of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has regained consciousness, her son Hussain Nawaz confirmed media.

“After exactly one-month, she [my mother] has opened her eyes. She looked around after opening her eyes,” Hussain Nawaz told reporters in London.

Kulsoom Nawaz had been unconscious and in critical condition after she suffered a cardiac arrest last month. She is being treated at the Harley Street Clinic in London.

In August 2017, Kulsoom Nawaz was diagnosed with lymphoma (throat) cancer and has undergone several chemotherapy sessions.

It is pertinent to mention here that Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz planned their return back to Pakistan on Friday after they were sentenced imprisonment by NAB court in Avenfield reference.

In this regard former Chief Minister Punjab and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz  Sharif directed his party workers to reach Lahore on 13th July to welcome their supreme leader Nawaz Sharif on his return to Pakistan.

“Nawaz  and Maryam will be given a warm welcome on their return to the country” said Shehbaz while addressing press conference in Lahore today.

He added that more than a hundred local leaders and workers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) were detained in a “midnight operation” late Wednesday ahead of party supremo Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz’s return to the country.

It has also learnt that Shehbaz Sharif will lead a rally from Muslim Masjid in Lohari Gate after Friday prayers, where he would be joined by Hamza Shehbaz and other senior leaders of the party.

A private bulletproof container has also been acquired by the party to transport senior PML-N officials through their way to Lahore airport to welcome the ex-premier.

The container would be air-conditioned, having wi-fi, jammers, comfortable sofas and bed.

Implementation on Nawaz, Maryam’s arrest warrants to be ensured: Chairman NAB

Chairman National Accountability Bureau Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has said that the implementation on the arrest warrants of Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam should be ensured.

Action will be taken against those who try to create hurdles, added the chairman of the probe authority.

Earlier sources informed Newsone that the NAB has arranged two helicopters for shifting former premier Nawaz and his daughter to Islamabad, after arresting them upon arrival in country.
