Murad Ali Shah approves lifting ban on student unions in Sindh: Murtaza Wahab

KARACHI: Adviser to Chief Minister of Sindh on Law Murtaza Wahab said on Monday the chief minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah has directed for the restoration of the student bodies in the province.


Addressing a press conference here at the provincial capital, CM’s adviser said the government of Sindh has in principle decided to restore student unions in educational institutions of the province and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto has also talked about (revival of ) the student unions.

The provincial law department has initiated consultations for the restoration of the student unions, he added.

Wahab said, “a meeting was also held with the representatives of students who have submitted their demands and recommendations to the government.”

Wahab further added that the bill for the revival of the unions in academic institutions will be tabled in the provincial assembly after its approval from the provincial cabinet.
