KARACHI: Former Military General (retd) Pervez Musharraf Saturday called the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) a “mature institution”.
Addressing a seminar here, Musharraf appreciated the NAB’s performance, which he said has improved in 15 years.
However, he added that there is a need to carry out reforms in the NAB and that it should not be shut down. His remarks came a few days after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif warned NAB of action against it for “harassing” government employees.
The former military ruler also suggested that new institutions should not be set up as the existing institutions would take time to get mature.
