NAB made for political engineering: Bilawal

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari alleged on Friday the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was made for political engineering and the succession of political revenge by the government continues.


Speaking in a press conference at Zardari House here minutes after his aunt Faryal Talpur’s house arrest by NAB in fake accounts case, the PPP chairperson condemned Talpur’s arrest saying former president Pervez Musharraf attacked the judiciary and now the incumbent “puppet” Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is doing the same.

Bilawal alleged that a conspiracy against the NAB chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal was hatched from the Prime Minister office which was not inquired. He further alleged that the government is influencing NAB by different tactics and that the government wanted the judges to follow a “script.”

Bilawal termed the recently announced 2019-20 federal budget as “economic suicide,” perpetrated by PTIMF (PTI and International Monetary Fund) and said the budget approved with rigging would not have any significance.

Referencing the recent arrests of PPP co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari and Talpur, Bilawal said those arrests were made to divert the attention of the public from “economic homicide.”

Bilawal told the public to pray for PPP to come to power and vowed revenge on PTI soon after.

Bilawal said to soon start public contact campaign post budget and also reiterated that the upcoming All-Parties Conference will be headed by Jamaat-e-Islami-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman.
