ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif has appreciated the Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar statement regarding the conduct of timely elections, as the latter said yesterday that he will not let the scheduled General Elections to be deferred.
Speaking to the Media correspondents after appearing before the Accountability Court, Nawaz said that the CJP Saqib Nisar should take suo motu notices on the anti- democratic moves which were seen in Balochistan Assembly, Senate Elections.
Nawaz also demanded a level playing field in the coming general elections, saying that he has taken up the matter with the incumbent Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on the missing persons of Pakistan Muslim League(Nawaz), remarking that it should come to halt.
However, the Accountability Court-I Judge Mohammad Bashir, who has been conducting Avenfield corruption proceedings against the Sharif family since September last year, could not preside over the hearing as he is unwell.
As a result, the hearing was adjourned until April 9 by duty judge Malik Arshad.
