Nawaz Sharif appears before the Accountability court, says Judiciary favoring Imran khan

ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Safdar and son in Law Captain(R) Safdar appeared before the accountability court on the corruption cases filed by the National Accountability Court on the orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in famous Panama verdict.


Talking to Media after attending corruption refernces, Nawaz remarked that Judiciary is rendering favor to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s chairman Imran Khan.

On Tuesday, Imran Khan got bail in 4 cases from Anti- Terrorism Court (ATC)relating to the alleged attack on PTV’s premises in 2014 sit-in.

According to sources witnesses recorded the statement against the ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in three references Azizia Steel Mills, offshore companies including Flagship Investment Ltd, and London’s Avenfield properties.

Nawaz and his family members reached the court complex earlier to be present at the hearing, being conducted by Accountability Court-I Judge Mohammad Bashir.

Nawaz came back from Saudia Arabia in midnight, after meeting the crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman, following the return of his younger brother Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday morning.

Nawaz visit to Saudia Arabia was not scheduled, sparking speculations that Saudia Arabia would broker any deal that could save Nawaz Sharif from the corruption cases in Pakistan.

However, these speculations were dismissed by Pakistan Muslim League(Nawaz), saying that both Sharif brothers visited Saudia Arabia to discuss the welfare of Muslim Ummah.

The Accountability Court adjourned the hearing till January 9, 2018
