LAHORE: Maryam Nawaz said on twitter when she visited Nawaz Sharif in Kot Lakhpat jail she found out that Sharif, “continues to have angina” ache and the last “occurrence of angina” was on Monday night.
Maryam further said in the tweet that she was not able to meet the ex-prime minister on Thursday night because of his unstable health. She also appreciated people’s “love and support” for her father.
Just got out of Kotlakhpat jail. MNS continues to have angina, last night being the latest recurrence. In view of his health, the (regular) Thursday meeting would not be possible. Thank you very much for your love, prayers & support for MNS.

Maryam later told reporters that in her meeting with ex-prime minister, they discussed Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s visit of Kot Lakhpat jail.
“Bilawal took out time to meet Nawaz Sharif and I thank him for this gesture,” Maryam told reporters.
After visiting ex-prime minister on Monday, Bilawal said to reporters that government should provide Nawaz Sharif with adequate medical attention.
“I felt upset when I met Mian Sahab, he looked very ill. I request on behalf of the PPP that Mian Sahab is given the best medical treatment and whatever treatment he has been demanding. I hope the prime minister and his government think on humanitarian grounds,” Bilawal said.
“I only came here to inquire about Mian Sahab’s health and we mostly discussed that. Obviously, we are politicians and discussed other things, including the Charter of Democracy,” Bilawal further added.
“Mian Sahab and Benazir Bhutto signed the Charter of Democracy in 2006 and it is our failure that it wasn’t fully implemented,” Bilawal said.
When asked if ex-prime minister is vowing to go abroad, Bilawal said, “”I got no impression or inkling that a deal has been made. Mian Sahab is upholding his principles and did not appear to be willing to make a compromise.”
“Mian Sahab said he is ideological and wants to do ideological politics,” he added. “My father spent 11 and a half years in jail and each time it was said that a deal has been struck with former president Pervez Musharraf,” Bilawal further added.
When asked if he would like to meet Maryam, Bilawal said,“at the right time or when it is appropriate I will be happy to meet with Maryam Nawaz Sharif.”
