Nawaz’s children submitted bogus documents to JIT, Wajid Zia in Avenfield case

ISLAMABAD: Federal Investigation Agency Additional Director Wajid Zia, who headed the Panama case investigation team which probed the Sharif family’s assets, has asserted that the signed forged documents were submitted to the JIT by Nawaz’s children during the probe.


Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and Captain(R) Safdar appeared before the accountability court in Avenfied reference case as court resumed hearing today.

Zia told the court that the trust deed submitted by Maryam Nawaz and her brothers Hussain and Hassan Nawaz to JIT had sent to a London-based firm, Radley Forensic Document Laboratory, for forensic examination.

He also told the court that London flats were the property of Hussain Nawaz from 1993 to 1996.

NAB has filed three corruption references against Sharif family on the orders of Supreme Court of Pakistan in Panama Papers ruling case.

Nawaz Sharif, his sons Hussain Nawaz, Hassan Nawaz are accused in all three corruption references, whereas Maryam Nawaz and Captain(R) Safdar are accused in Avenfield reference case.

 ‘Nation’s thumbs’, not the umpire’s finger will decide fate’

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday has said that he believe in the power of Nation’s thumbs’ rather than umpires’ finger.

He said that Army chief Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf and former president is continuously lying about his return to Pakistan just to avoid the trial.

He said that the People of Pakistan should understand the difference between people like Musharraf and politicians.
