Nayyar Bukhari arrest warrant issued for thrashing policeman

ISLAMABAD: Arrest warrant of former chairman Senate Nayyar Hussain Bukhari has been issued while government has advised him to acquire pre-arrest bail in policeman thrashing case.

Bukhari had thrashed a policeman on Wednesday after he attempted to search him before entering a court in federal capital’s F-8. A case was lodged at Margalla Police Station while Inspector General (IG) Tariq Masood Yasin had ordered arrest of the felon.

Sources have said that two key members of the government have advised the ex-chairman of Senate to acquire pre-arrest bail. Sources stated that two government members have contacted the former chairman today.

On the other hand, police are deliberating over inclusion of Bukhari’s son in the case. According to the police, the person who thrashed the policeman on duty was Bukhari’s son, Jarar and not former chairman’s bodyguard.

Bukhari had claimed that none of his aides thrashed the policeman however, CCTV footage of the incident disproved the claim. Footage shows Bukhari shoving the security person and his ‘son’ then thrashed him.

Station House Officer (SHO) Margalla Police Station has ordered personnel to apprehend the felon.

It should also be mentioned here that Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah had sided with Bukhari in the issue. He pointed out on Wednesday that a security person on duty could not be dressed in civil clothing.
