ISLAMABAD: PM Imran Khan, in his address to the nation, blamed former PPP, PML-N governments for economic woes of country


Addressing the nation on television hours after the unveiling of the federal budget for the fiscal year 2019-20, PM said the state of Medina was a model state which the “Naya Pakistan” is about to become, and the ruler of Medina state was responsive of His actions. PM said in the state of Medina, the amount would be taken from the rich and spent on the poor as everyone was equal in the eyes of the law.

PM said ever since he came to power, he is being asked where is “Naya Pakistan” as the state of Medina was not built in a day. PM said “Naya Pakistan” is an act which will he fulfill.

PM, referencing the recent arrests made by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Asif Ali Zardari and Hamza Shahbaz, said nobody would have imagined these “big towers” will be in jail, and said he did not make cases on the opposition leaders.

PM said the NAB is not under him and the judiciary is independent, this is domination of law and order which is evident now.

PM said democracy only works when there are two different ideologies in the parliament as there is consensus in the parliament after debates.

PM said from the very first-day opposition is not letting him speak in the assembly, I will not be blackmailed by them. PM said PPP and PML-N did corruption recklessly and the debt imposed on the country after 2008 was doing of these two parties.

PM said the opposition longs for the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) which will never be given to them.

PM said during the decade the debt rose to Rs30.60 billion and Pakistanis have $10 billion in overseas bank accounts.
