ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Tuesday directed Federal Investigating Agency (FIA), Police and Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) to speed up the campaign against the proclaimed offenders (POs) and future policy should be put up by the end of this month.
Presiding over a meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday, Nisar directed the authorities to put special focus on arresting POs who are involved in heinous crimes including murder, kidnapping for ransom, terrorism, drugs and human trafficking and vehicle theft/snatching.
The minister was briefed that central databank of POs has been established in coordination with NADRA which would be shared with all law enforcement agencies.
Nisar was informed that FIA with coordination of NAB successfully apprehended two individuals and also recovered an amount of Rs. 7.5 million from an accused on voluntary basis.
