No one allowed to violate the law and order, says Afridi

ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Interior Shehryar Afridi on Thursday said no one allowed to violate law and order and the government will take strict action against anyone taking law in their hands.

Speaking to the media, the Minister said everyone witnessed what Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) workers did on Wednesday, referring to PPP workers’ assemblage outside the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) office in Islamabad upon arrival of Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto and Co-Chairperson Asif Ali Zardari before NAB.

Bilawal must respond to the accusations pointed at him, the Minister said while showing displeasure against PPP leaders for bringing workers along them for the NAB investigation.

No one is above the law, Afridi said, “not even the Prime Minister and his secondary officials.”

Six police officers and three media staff members were also targeted by the protesting PPP workers, Afridi said.

“PPP workers involved in vandalizing & beating police officers will be penalized as per law. Rest peaceful workers would be released from Police custody,” Afridi said in a tweet.

“As a political worker myself who has faught against injustice myself all my life, but have never taken law into my hands ever,” Afridi further said in the tweet.

Afridi said that the Federal Government has been in office for seven months and the outcome of government’s performance will manifest soon.

A fifth generation war was imposed on Pakistan, Afridi said. Minister further said the implementation of National Action Plan (NAP) was mutually affiliated by all political parties.
