Opposition leaders lash out at govt, show solidarity with PIA protesters

KARACHI: The representatives of opposition parties on Wednesday showed solidarity with the protesting Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) workers.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and opposition leader in National Assembly Khursheed Shah while criticizing Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif vowed to support PIA workers at every step against privatization. He said we are ready to face any challenge but won’t stop favoring PIA staffers as they have only asked for their rights.

It seems that Zia-ul-Haq has got alive again after seeing such kind of torture on workers, he added.

Leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Shah Mahmood Qureshi strongly denounced the ongoing chaos in the country and sought judicial inquiry into the matter.

Government is taking violent steps to divide PIA workers which is illegal and not accepted , said Shah Mahmood.

Chief of Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Siraj-ul-Haq urged the federation to apologize from the employees and to give green signal to their demands.

Action against the culprits involved in the killings is necessary. Authorities have created chaos in the country instead of handling it properly , he added.

Meanwhile, Chief of Awami Muslim League (AML) Sheikh Rasheed advised ruling party to resolve the matter by saying yes on the PIA workers’ demands.

On the other hand, Latif Khosa also arrived in Islamabad to show harmony with the PIA activists.
