Pakistan summons Indian diplomat as ceasefire violations continue

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Foreign Office on Thursday has summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner to lodge strong protest against ceasefire violations at the Line of Control by Indian security forces.


An elder civilian was martyred when Indian forces opened unprovoked fire in Jandrot and Chirikot sector.

Director General South Asia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr Faisal conveyed Pakistan’s anguish to Indian diplomat J.P. Singh, and also handed him over a protest dossier against ceasefire violations.

The ceasefire violations by India are a threat to regional peace and security and may lead to a strategic miscalculation.

According to the foreign office, Indian forces carried out more than 400 ceasefire violations along the Line of Control and the Working Boundary in 2018, killing 19 innocent civilians and injuries to 69 others.
