KARACHI: On Wednesday, the Sindh government has launched Peoples Bus Service with collaboration with private bus company, Daewoo, today.
Initially 10 buses would run on the streets of Karachi, between Quaidabad and Tower, till 11pm.
All 10 bused have 30 seats and have separate doors for men and women to enter.
However, the 10 buses are few very for a city like Karachi where a majority of the population of roughly 16 million depend on public transport for daily commute.
Talking to the media, Sindh Transport Minister Nasir Hussain Shah promised to launch more buses in the coming days.
“It is not big deal for Sindh government to start the bus service as this could be seen as the first drop of rain,” he added.
