PM Imran, COAS Gen. Bajwa discuss country’s overall security situation

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday called on Prime Minister Imran Khan at PM House in Islamabad.

During the meeting, matters pertaining to country’s security situation in wake of protests following the Supreme Court’s verdict in Asia Bibi case came under discussion during the meeting.

Earlier in a day, Prime Minister Imran Khan fully backed the Supreme Court’s verdict in Aasia Bibi Case and appealed the nation to remain vigilant against inciters.

Addressing the nation tonight, PM Imran said the reaction on the Supreme Court decision by a small segment of society is not appropriate, adding that Pakistan is the only country in the world that was created on the name of Islam, after Medina.

“Language used against the Supreme Court judges, army chief and other important personalities is intolerable,” said PM.

“I believe a persona cannot be a Muslim unless he has deep love for the personality of prophet Muhammad (PBUH).”

He said Pakistan was the only country in Islamic world that vociferously raised the issue of blasphemous caricatures in Netherlands.

Imran Khan said those who are inciting the people against judges, army and state institutions are doing disservice to the country.
