PM must quit after losing moral authority: Imran Khan

LONDON: In a fresh statement after arriving in London, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan once again questioned that how can the Prime Minister hold his office in the awake of Panama leaks.

“Spanish minister resigns in wake of Panama Leaks & no inquiry committee was needed as he lost all moral authority to hold the position,” Khan wrote on Twitter.

He added: “Why doesn’t our PM realise that in a democracy once a PM loses moral authority he cannot hold that office?”

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has been under tremendous pressure from opposition parties to step down since his family members were named in the mass leak of offshore account data from the Panama firm Mossack Fonseca.

His son Hussain Nawaz has owned offshore companies and one of the most expansive Mayfair London properties. One of his offshore accounts in the data is worth of 5.5 million British pounds, or about $7.8 million.
