PML-N accuses PTI of ‘playing politics’ on PIA issue

KARACHI: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Muhammad Zubair and Danial Aziz Wednesday accused Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) of ‘playing politics’ on Pakistan International Airlines PIA) issue.

Minister for Privatization, Muhammad Zubair and Danial Aziz said that PTI is ‘playing politics’ on employees’ protest against expected PIA privatization.

They reiterated government’s assurance to protesting PIA workers that none of them will be fired from his job.

PIA employees have been staging countrywide demonstrations against the privatization move forcing suspension of flight operations and locking up offices.

One such protest in Karachi turned violent when the workers clashed with law enforcers outside PIA head office on Tuesday. Three protesting employees were killed due to firing amid ruckus.

Government officials said that someone from inside the demonstration fired, a claim protesters denied.
