LAHORE: Chief Minister of Punjab and Pakistan Muslim League(Nawaz) President Shehbaz Sharif claimed to have made South Punjab’ a priority, dismissing claims made by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan People’s Party that the ruling party has had only worked for Central Punjab, leaving the former in a state of poverty.
In a meeting with members of the national and provincial assembly earlier today, Shehbaz said the previous governments neglected South Punjab and manipulated slogans for a new province to achieve political gains.
On Monday, another mighty loss to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was witnessed ahead of elections as eight lawmakers announced to part ways with the ruling party and will create a separate province for Southern Punjab, Newsone reported.
Explaining the purpose of quitting PML-N,MNA Khusro Bakhtiar stated that they will create a separate province for southern Punjab.
“The purpose of the press conference is to announce the creation of a new province,” Khusro Bakhtiar said while addressing a press conference in Lahore along with other disgruntled leaders.
According to NewsOne, the eight lawmakers include Five MPAs and 2 MNAs.
