Politicians flock Sharif Residence to condole Kulsoom Nawaz’s passing, Sharif’s out on Parole

The Pakistan Muslim League (N) party leaders, workers and symapthisers are gathering at the Jati Umra to pay their condolences to Sharif family on the sad demise of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, who breathed her last in a London hospital on Tuesday.

Former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Capt. (Retd) Muhammad Safdar were released on parole from Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi after Begum Kulsoom Nawaz’s demise in a London Hospital.

According to the Punjab Home Department sources here on Wednesday, all three had reached Jati Umra residence after they were flown to Lahore in the wee hours of Wednesday morning.

Nawaz Sharif, Maryam and Safdar have been released on a 12-hour parole which was likely to be extended in order to enable them attend the funeral and burial of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz at the Jati Umra residence of the Sharifs on Friday.

Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, PML-N President and opposition leader in the National Assembly, had flown to London to attend her funeral prayers at Regent Park mosque and bring back her body to Lahore.

The security around the Jati Umra residence has been beefed up.

Parole Extension

The Punjab government on Wednesday decided to extend former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter, Maryam, and son-in-law Captain (retd) Mohammad Safdar’s parole by three days.

The three were released from Adiala Jail on parole hours after Nawaz’s ailing wife, Begum Kulsoom, passed away at a hospital in London on Tuedsay due to longstanding illness and complications related to cancer.

Nawaz, Maryam and Capt (retd) Safdar were released on a 12-hour parole to attend Begum Kulsoom’s funeral.

The Sharif family had requested that a five-day parole be granted to the three, who are currently serving sentences for corruption at Adiala Jail.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif accompanied the three on the flight to Lahore.

Shehbaz Sharif leaves for London

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif left for London on Wednesday at 9:45 am to attend the funeral of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz scheduled to be held tomorrow in Regent Plaza Park.

Shehbaz is travelling to London via Doha o n a foreign flight. He accompanied with other members of the family will return to the country on Friday at 6am along with Kulsoom’s body.

The body of former first lady will be flown from Heathrow airport on Thursday at 10pm PST via PIA flight PK-758.

Nawaz Sharif sons Hassan and Hussain Nawaz won’t be in Lahore to attend the funeral prayers owing to their legal cases in Pakistan in which they are declared absconders.
