ISLAMABAD: The nomination papers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Dr Arif Alvi, Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Aitzaz Ahsan and Grand opposition alliance’s candidate Maulana Fazlur Rehaman have been scrutinised and approved by the Election Commission Of Pakistan for the presidential election on Wednesday.
Presidential candidates were advised to appear along with their proposer and seconder before the commission in Islamabad at 10:00am.
Chief Election Commissioner Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan scrutinised the nomination papers of the candidates as all three contestant – Dr. Arif lvi, Aitzaz Ahsan, and Maulana Fazlur Rehman – appeared before the commission.
Candidates can withdraw their nomination papers by Thursday, after that the final list will be announced on the same day.
The presidential election is slated to be held on September 4.
