PTI announces new date of Faislabad rally

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday announced to hold grand public meeting in Faisalabad on May 20.

Earlier, the PTI chief Imran Khan cancelled May 8 public meeting in Faisalabad due to women harassment incidents in PTI rallies, accusing the PML-N of sending goons to PTI rallies.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan posted a statement to Facebook saying the public meeting had been postponed in light of the harassment of female attendees of the party’s gatherings in Islamabad and Lahore over the past month.

“I don’t trust the Punjab police” after women were harassed at PTI gatherings, he said, adding that plans to attack the women were a conspiracy to restrict their participation in politics.

Imran Khan has formed six member committee for making arrangements for May 20 public meeting in Faisalabad. Besides other central leaders, Imran Khan would also address the public meeting.
