PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Monday has inaugurated 2.12 Kilometre (Km) long Bab-e-Peshawar Flyover.

The PTI chairman addressed the inauguration ceremony of Bab-e-Peshawar Flyover.

Khan criticised the government and said that nations do not progress by construction of roads and bridges. PTI chief said that flyovers could also be built in cities other than Lahore.

Khan said that the government acquired loans amounting to at least $4,700 billion in a span of two and a half years however, none know where the funds were spent.

The opposition party leader said that the government pocketed USD 11 billion by not reducing oil prices in accordance with the international market. He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police has become an ideal institution.

The government spent funds not on Metro but for the welfare of locals, he added.

While talking about China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Khan said that China is investing in bid to uplift its underdeveloped areas.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the only province which has done projects under social responsibility. The government has planted at least 11.5 crore trees, he added.

The PTI leader shared on a social media website that the multi-level flyover was built within months for Rs 1.7 billion while it would cater to over a hundred thousand people on daily basis.
