PTI postpones Faisalabad rally after indecent behavior with Women

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) here on Wednesday postponed its rally in Faisalabad on coming Sunday in wake of indecent behavior with women participants after Lahore rally.

Party’s spokesperson stated that the party does not trust Punjab Police with rally’s security anymore. He said that the women participants remained safe and sound during 126-day long sit-in at D-Chowk.

It was only in Lahore on the Mall that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) ‘goons’ behaved indecently with women during PTI’s rally. It should be noted here that PTI chairman Imran Khan had addressed a rally in front of Punjab Assembly on Sunday.

As soon as the rally ended, women were wronged despite separate enclosures that were dedicated for them. Ruling party’s women members had lambasted PTI’s leader for not knowing how to treat the women. They criticised Khan for eyeing leadership of the country when he could not handle a rally.

On the other hand, PTI’s women politicians held a counter-press conference and stated that such a case never surfaced prior to rally in Lahore, PML-N’s centre. Law Minister Rana Sanaullah had said that law enforcement agencies would arrest culprits after identifying them using CCTV cameras.

A case was registered at Civil Lines Police Station. Sanaullah had further said that Khan’s arrest was likely in capacity of a facilitator. A first information report (FIR) was also moved by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. Imran Khan had announced holding rallies in different cities against alleged corrupt rulers.

Pressure on the government has increased by the opposition ever since Panama Papers named Prime Minister s (PM) family in law firm s leaks.
