PTI’s Aleem Khan admits to have offshore company

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaf (PTI) leader Aleem Khan has admitted to have established offshore firms after his name emerged in the Panama Papers.

Aleem said that he owned real estates businesses in several countries around the world. However, he had declared them to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

While addressing a press conference, Aleem Khan said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should be ready to face a transparent inquiry in his offshore firms. Therefore, he was presenting himself voluntarily to an inquiry as well to set a precedent.

PTI leader said that sharif family had concealed their assets since the last thirty years from the public, due to which they were in the current situation.

This was just the first phase of the Panama Papers and there were several more leaks where even more revelations will be made. The decision to stage an sit-in whether in Raiwand or Model Town Lahore would be made by Imran Khan on April 24 in Islamabad.
