Rangers official killed in colleague’s firing

KARACHI: A Rangers soldier died after being shot by his fellow official during a dispute in Karachi.


According to police, Mashooq Ali was shot by Ali Murtaza following clash between the two paramilitary troopers in limits of Shahrah-e-Faisal police station.

Raja Tariq, the SHO of Shahrah-e-Faisal police station, told Samaa correspondent that Mashooq Ali was first moved to Civil Hospital and then to PNS Shifa hospital in critical condition where he breathed his last.

Ali’s body was later shifted to Jinnah hospital where it was handed over to heirs after postmortem.

Police said they have registered an FIR against the accused Ali Murtaza, was arrested and moved to an undisclosed location.

Reasons behind the clash were not disclosed as investigations are underway, with no official word from Rangers so far.
