Rao Anwar Bank accounts frozen: SBP official informs Supreme Court

ISLAMABAD: On Monday, the Supreme Court of Pakistan while hearing a suo moto case against the deposed, absconder SSP Rao Anwar was informed by State Bank official that the Bank accounts of the accused Rao Anwar are frozen, however he is receiving salary in his one account but can not withdraw it, Newsone reported.


Today, the apex court bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar resumed the hearing, as on last Friday, CJP Mian Saqib Nisar gave directions to Inspector General Sindh A.D Khawaja to submit a progress progress report pertaining to the Naqeebullah Mehsud murder case.

CJP Nisar observed that Rao Anwar could only be saved if he comply to the court orders and present itself before the bench.

Naqeebullah Mehsud, hailing from South Waziristan was the victim of Rao Anwar terror who was picked up unwarranted and then killed by Rao Anwar and his encounter team on the charges of terrorism in Karachi, which later turned out to be un true, and Naqebbullah was vindicated from the charges of terrorism.

Since then, the whereabouts of Rao Anwar could not be ascertained as the Sindh police also sought help from Military intelligence to find the accused.
