A selfie of Zeeshan has been recovered from his mobile phone with Usman, another terrorist killed in Faisalabad.

The vehicle used in Sahiwal incident was also surfaced. As per details, the car was owned by a terrorist named Adeel Hafeez who was killed in Faisalabad during the operation of security forces.

He bought the car for Rs680,000 through an online application on May 9, 2018 from a man named Saqib Muhammad.

However; the vehicle was under the use of Zeeshan who was killed in CTD’s encounter in Sahiwal. He has been suspected of having links with Daesh.

Earlier, today Punjab law minister Raja Basharat informed that initial Joint Investigation Team Report (JIT) has declared five officers of Counter-Terrorism Department responsible for the killing of Khalil’s family in Sahiwal.

Speaking to media persons about the finding of JIT’s report submitted to Punjab Chief Minister and other top officials, Basharat said that Additional IG police and Additional IG CTD have been removed from their positions.

CTD personnel said they had killed a local commander of militant organisation Daesh and three others in the operation. Eyewitnesses, however, disputed the claim and said the people in the car did not fire at officials, nor were any explosives recovered from the vehicle.

Speaking to journalists after a high-level meeting on the Sahiwal incident, the minister said that the provincial government has relinquished Additional Inspector General CTD operations (Punjab) and DIG CTD from their post, and told them to report to the federal government.

“SSP CTD and DSP CTD of Lahore region are suspended,” the law minister added.

The law minister said that challan of five CTD officials will be presented before the anti-terrorism court tomorrow (Wednesday).

The minister further said that the government will hold an in camera briefing tomorrow on the incident.
