Sandstorm, dusty wind overtakes Karachi, heavy rain forecasted

KARACHI: Severe sandstorm and dusty wind on Sunday overtook Karachi which created difficulty in breathing for its residents.


The Iranian flood “system” entered Karachi and the interior Sindh from Balochistan which will lead to heavy rain for up to three days, said the Meteorology Department.

Western wind system unusually appeared in April as it mostly comes in cold weather, Meteorology Dept said, adding that the system already have caused dust storm in Gulf countries.

Rainfall will begin on Monday and will continue until Wednesday, said the dept. Sindh Government have imposed rain emergency in Karachi and interior Sindh, according to sources.
