Sattar demands across the board accountability

ISLAMABAD: Senior MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar on Tuesday called for across the board accountability and national consultation to eradicate corruption from the country.


Speaking to the media after meeting a PPP delegation in the federal capital, Dr Farooq Sattar said that he would hold consultations with members of MQM’s Coordination Committee about party’s position on Panama papers.

“MQM has always raised its voice against the corruption, but accountability must be without any discriminate,” Sattar said.

“The issue of probe into Panama leaks is stuck over terms of reference. All political parties should be consulted on the matter of national importance,” MQM leader added.

The MQM leader said that he informed the PPP about the challenges his party was facing in Karachi.

“Nearly 60 MQM workers have been killed extra judicially and 170 are still missing,” Farooq Sattar said.

Speaking on this occasion, PPP leader Aitezaz Ahsan deplored the media ban of Lahore High Court on broadcast of Altaf Hussain’s speeches .

About Panama papers, he said that accountability must begin from Prime Minister’s family.
