ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan on Thursday has discarded the petition filed against appointment of Justice Qaiz Faez as chief justice of Balochistan high court.
Three member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar announced the verdict against the appointment of Justice Faez Isa.
The complainer informed the court that appointment of Justice Faez Isa was against the constitution of article 105 and 196.
During the hearing the CJP asked petitioner to provide proof of his claim that Justice Isa was not appointed by the acting governor on the advice of the chief minister.
The court then dismissed the petition, informing that a detailed verdict would be issued later.
Two years ago, Rahi had filed a constitutional petition challenging appointment of Justice Isa as the SC judge well as his appointment as the Balochistan High Court’s chief justice in August 2009.
