SC serves notices to two LHC judges for alleged graft, misconduct


ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday has taken action against two Lahore High Court (LHC) judges on accusations of graft and misconduct.


The Supreme Judicial Council has served notices to Justice Shahid Hamid Dar and Justice Muzahar Ali Akbar Naqvi. Justice Dar comes on fourth in seniority list while Justice Naqvi on 11th.

It should be cleared here that Justice Dar is accused of graft while Justice Naqvi of giving weak verdicts leading to advantage of the criminals. Judicial council’s chairman will initiate action on November 12.

Earlier this month, LHC s chief justice (CJ) Justice Manzoor Ahmed Malik was appointed as SC judge. Justice Sardar Tariq Mehmood, judge with the LHC was also sworn in.

CJ of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali had administered the oaths.
