Sea view killing: Police granted Physical remand of prime suspect

KARACHI: In another heartbreaking incident at Sea View, a judicial magistrate on Monday granted police a two-day physical remand of the prime suspect in the Sea View killing case.

Law enforcement agencies (LEAs) have taken into custody the primary suspects involved in an incident of firing at Karachi’s Do Darya a day earlier in which one youth was killed and another injured.

According to police they had seized a black-coloured double-cabin vehicle but the search for those inside the car was still underway, following the raids being conducted in PECHS and adjacent areas.

Eyewitness accounts claim that four people were on their way from Do Darya in Phase 8 of the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) in a car when they reportedly hit a sports bike from behind and sped away.

A few moments later, their car was chased down, stopped by a double-cabin vehicle, which was escorting the injured biker, and was fired upon by people from inside.

On Sunday early morning, Teenager Zafir, 18 was killed by the unknown suspects at Boat basin following a minor accident at Do Darya.

Two youths were travelling in a Mercedes and were on their way to have breakfast at the beach when an incident occurred.

After the accident, suspects travelling in double-cabin vehicle had opened indiscriminate fire on the car at around 9am.

His other friend aged 20, Zaid was submitted to the hospital, as he sustained a bullet wound on his hand and is reported to be out of danger.

Meanwhile, in a recently-surfaced CCTV video, it is seen that the prime suspect Khawar along with his accomplices in two other cars was speeding away after the murder.

Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah took notice of the incident and has sought a report from the additional inspector general of police.

Sindh IG AD Khawaja also directed DIG South Azad Khan to give special attention towards illegal street racing on Seaview, which is a growing concern and requires “special focus.”
